Stand up science

Stand-up Science returns by popular demand with Dr Justine Rogers (Nerd NiteTEDx Sydney and Sydney Comedy Festival), Maths-Comedian Simon Pampena(back from the Edinburgh Festival the Middle East) and Jazz Twemlow (ABC2’s “The Roast“: comedian, writer, Political Curmudgeon).

The venue is the Powerhouse licensed café, a stylish space that absolutely comes to life once the sun goes down and the bar opens up.

Simon Pampena – Maths comedian and Edinburgh Festival star, Simon one of the few mathematicians who can keep an audience totally captivated from start to finish. Simon has worked all over the world and all over Australia with his fast-paced maths patter and spark-filled spiel of laughs, logic and algebra.

Dr. Justine Rogers – MC. Academic and stand-up, Dr Justine Rogers’ brilliant show ʺShame – You’re the Worstʺ was a great success at Sydney Comedy Festival this year. Justine is the brains behind ‘Nerd Nite Sydney’, the ‘Nerd All Star Comedy Gala’ show and the new venture ‘That’ll Learn You’ at the Giant Dwarf Theatre.

Jazz Twemlow – From ABC2’s “The Roast”: comedian, writer, Political Curmudgeon. Jazz has performed at five comedy festivals, written for TEDx and I F**king Love Science Live, and now has his own TV column in The Guardian. His stand-up was listed in The Guardian as some of the best in Climate Science Comedy, where he was listed alongside the likes of John Oliver, Ali G, David Mitchell, and The Onion.

The Ultimo Science Festival is brought to you by the Powerhouse Museum, the University of Technology Sydney, the ABC and Ultimo TAFE. The Festival is also supported by the Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer of NSW, the City of Sydney and the Australian Government through the Inspiring Australia Program.
