The largest festival of its kind in Australia, the Australian Museum Science Festival is a collaborative program encompassing all fields of science. Held each year as part of National Science Week, and touring to regional NSW, the Festival provides a unique platform to promote scientific literacy within the Australian community and inspire participants to engage with science on all levels.
It brings together science professionals and educators to deliver transformative science communication and empower generations of future science enthusiasts. Working with industry partners, the Festival highlights Australian research initiatives that are addressing both global and local problems.
In Sydney, the Festival is held over three-weeks and delivers over 250 interactive workshops, talks and shows, to school students, community visitors and industry professionals. In 2015 more than 6,000 students participated in the onsite event during National Science Week, and last week saw over 500 students participate in our regional event in Dubbo.
Get involved
Collaboration with science professionals and communities is what makes the Australian Museum Science Festival so powerful. We are now on the lookout for new partners who can join us in 2016 and beyond to help us showcase the lynchpin role science has in our community.

Australian Museum Science Festival tours throughout NSW, connecting regional communities and industries across the state. We help create and support educational networks to share local expertise and knowledge with students and the community.

- Western Sydney – Western Sydney University, Hawkesbury campus
- Wollongong – Wollongong University campus
