Creating partnerships for grant applications is a important way to enhances your applications credibility. Partnerships expands the resources available for the project and demonstrates collaboration. Partnerships bring diverse expertise, strengthen the project’s impact, and showcases a commitment to addressing the grants objectives. Partnerships leverage the strengths of multiple organisations and stakeholders making the application more competitive.
Inspiring NSW worked with Virtual Excursions during COVID to develop training for online events, including best practice for partnerships. Many of the principles still apply for online events, and can be applied to in person events. This video was produced and delivered by Fizzics Education, Australian Environmental Education and Refraction Media with support from the NSW Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer and state Inspiring Australia programs in NSW, ACT, QLD, WA and SA.
For Inspiring NSW National Science Week grants, we define a partner as a person or organisation that is contributing significantly to the event or activity. This includes a significant contribution to funding, the organisation or planning of your event or activity.
Examples include:
- an organisation that provides free venue or equipment hire
- an organisation that funds part of event or activity
- a person that waives their appearance fee
All partners must provide a letter of support for the Inspiring NSW National Science Week grants.
Other participating people, organisations and groups that are potentially involved in the event or activity can be included in your Inspiring NSW National Science Week grants. These stakeholder are not require to provide a letter of support as long as they are not contributing significantly to the funding, organisation or planning.
Examples include:
- a person or organisation that is being paid for their presentation
- participating organisation that promotes your event or activity through their marketing channels
