Grants for National Science Week from the Commonwealth

The Australian Government supports National Science Week in a variety of ways, including through event grants.

These national grants help provide nationwide science engagement activities for the community. They support projects that:

  • are high profile – across all states and territories
  • stimulate further contributions by other organisations
  • target new and under-served audiences
  • engage Indigenous Australians in National Science Week activities

An open competitive funding round of $500 000 is held once a year for events and activities across Australia. The minimum grant amount is $2000 and the maximum grant amount is $20 000.

Projects must be worth more than the grant amount you are applying for. You must have some additional funding or in-kind contributions to support your project.

Applications for 2024 National Science Week are open now and close on 11 December 2023.
