Guide to writing a successful grant application

Use these resources to help you write a successful grant application for the Inspiring Australia NSW National Science Week grants. Follow these tips to help you get started.

  1. Understand the Program: Review the objectives of National Science Week, which aims to promote public awareness and engagement with science. Ensure your project aligns with these goals.
  2. Project Relevance: Propose an engaging and innovative science-related event or activity that will captivate the public. Focus on reaching a wide audience and fostering inclusivity and diversity in your approach.
  3. Clear Objectives: Define the goals of your project, such as raising awareness of a particular scientific issue or encouraging hands-on participation. Make sure they are measurable and achievable.
  4. Detailed Plan: Provide a clear project plan with timelines, key milestones, and roles. Show how you will engage the community and maximize participation during National Science Week in NSW.
  5. Budget Justification: Create a realistic and well-detailed budget that outlines how the grant funds will be used, including materials, venues, and promotion costs.
  6. Demonstrate Impact: Highlight how your event or activity will inspire and educate the public, particularly those who may not typically engage with science.
  7. Sustainability: If applicable, explain how the project can have a lasting impact beyond National Science Week.
  8. Follow Guidelines: Adhere to all application guidelines and deadlines provided by Inspiring Australia NSW, ensuring your proposal is complete and well-organized.

By aligning your project with the goals of National Science Week and clearly communicating its impact, you can enhance your chances of securing funding.
