Public libraries across New South Wales serve as vital community hubs, offering free access to information, technology, and lifelong learning resources. They promote social inclusion, support digital and literacy skills, and provide safe, welcoming spaces for people of all ages and backgrounds. Libraries host diversity of programs, including cultural events, educational workshops, and early childhood literacy sessions, fostering personal development and social connection.
Inspiring Australia NSW is partnering with Children’s Discovery to run a competition to find the best science themed display across NSW public libraries.
National Science Week runs from 15 to 23 August 2026. For a chance to win a $500 Children’s Discovery pack for your library send us photos of your display and tell us how you engaged your community.
A FREE National Science Week Tube will be sent by Inspiring Australia NSW to the first 50 registered Libraries by 1 August 2025. The Science Week Tube will include National Science Week posters, badges and the ‘How to host a National Science Week program at your library’ guide. Additional activities and resources included are supplied by Children’s Discovery, including a Tornado Tube, graphic panel and Storytime science items.
The competition will have 3 prizes from Inspiring Australia NSW, Children’s Discovery and CSIRO Publishing.
