Taking place in libraries, museums, community centres and online, these sessions are designed to spark curiosity and make science accessible, relatable, and fun for all ages.

Sydney City Farm – Exploring nature’s hidden language
Explore patterns in nature with all your senses at our fun, free and relaxed family fun day at Sydney City Farm during National Science Week. Make sure you meet a scientist too.

Science in the Scrub
The Lizard Log will transform into a pop−up village of scientific wonder this National Science Week, with live science shows, hands−on experiments, native animals and over 30 stalls to explore. Don’t miss the life−sized roaming dinosaur and your chance to meet real−life scientists at this special event.
11am – 3pm on Sunday 10 August at the Lizard Log, Western Sydney Parklands
Speed Meet a Scientist at Woollahra Libraries
As part of National Science Week this event brings together scientists from a range of backgrounds for informal, small-group conversations. You’ll rotate through the room and spend eight minutes with each scientist, asking questions and hearing firsthand about their work, research, and discoveries.
It’s a great way to learn more about science in action and explore different career paths.
2pm – 3:45pm on Sunday 17 August at Woollahra Library, Double Bay
Science in the Swamp
Loch Avenue South will come alive this National Science Week as it transforms into a vibrant science hub, packed with scientific discovery and hands-on fun. Explore over 30 interactive stalls, get involved in live experiments, and enjoy science shows that will ignite your curiosity.
The event offers a rare chance to meet real-life scientists, hear their stories, and ask your burning questions. Plus, keep an eye out for the life-sized roaming dinosaur adding prehistoric excitement to this celebration of science!
