This International Women’s Day, step aboard with Ocean Lovers Festival for Women Making Waves; a joyful, inspiring harbour experience celebrating the women shaping the future of our ocean.
Delivered in collaboration with Fantasea Cruising, Sydney Institute of Marine Science, Surfrider Foundation Australia, and Surfers for Climate this special event brings ocean science, sport, storytelling and community together on Sydney Harbour – one of the most beautiful waterways in the world.
Set sail for 90 minute morning of connection, conversation and celebration as we explore the harbour through the voices of women leading change for our ocean.
During the cruise, you will hear stories from some of the women who have turned ripples into waves throughout their ocean careers, from scientists at the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS), a WSL professional surfer and record-breaking sailors – turning the harbour into a living classroom.
On board, you’ll experience:
A guided harbour cruise with Fantasea, moving past key cultural and ecological sites
Two intimate panel conversations, hosted by Ocean Lovers Festival & Surfrider Foundation Australia.
Morning tea on board, with time to connect with fellow ocean lovers
A shared toast to the women making waves – on the water and beyond
This is an amazing experience for:
Ocean lovers, surfers and sea swimmers
Women and allies in science, sport, sustainability and climate action
Students, changemakers and curious minds
Visitors seeking a uniquely Sydney, ocean-led experience
Women Making Waves is about more than celebration – it’s a reminder that caring for our ocean is our collective responsibility, powered by bold ideas and decisive community action.
