Spark Festival

As the track lead for Spark Festival, Inspiring Australia NSW Manager Jackie Randles facilitates participation by STEM researchers interested in founding businesses, seeking industry partnerships and commercial outcomes.

  • In 2020, Crazy Works! was co-presented with Uniseed and Sydney Knowledge Hub to discuss how academic researchers can be better prepared to create startups.
  • In 2019, our Taking research to market forum was the inaurgural event hosted by Sydney Knowledge Hub, a new co-working space available to research-based startups allowing them to collaborate more deeply with the University of Sydney. The forum united startup founders with STEM backgrounds and venture capitalists in candid discussions about how to start and grow a business from university research.
  • In 2018, our Spin on Spinouts event at Sydney Startup Hub showcased five companies developed at CSIRO’s Data61.
  • In 2017, our Commercialising Research forum brought together 40 science and technology researchers from Sydney’s universities, Data61 and the CSIRO with venture capitalists and research-based startups.
