Questacon, the National Science and Technology Centre, is taking its newest program to the Illawarra region to give students, teachers and the general community a chance to explore design thinking, technology, creativity and innovation. The Questacon Smart Skills Initiative includes free workshops in secondary schools that encourage students to play with technology, make inventive creations to solve problems and discover the innovator within.
Questacon Smart Skills Teacher Workshops will also be delivered in Wollongong and South Coast venues from Monday 20 to Friday 24 July. Expressions of interest are still open for interested teachers to attend. All workshops are hands-on, collaborative and engaging. They are suitable for secondary teachers of science, design and technology and interested Year 6 teachers. These workshops introduce hands-on design thinking activities that teachers can implement with their students back in the classroom.
Expressions of interest in attending Questacon Smart Skills Teacher Workshop 2 can be made via teachers@questacon.edu.au or phone 02 6112 9723.
