The Earth Futures Festival is in full swing!

The Earth Futures Festival is an international film and video festival that unites the arts and science to showcase how our scientific understanding and long-lived cultural knowledge of the Earth provide solutions to pressing global challenges. Geoscience is key to understanding the relationships between the planet’s physical and biological systems, human interaction with the environment and climatic impacts.

A staggering 972 films from 89 countries were submitted to the Earth Futures Festival 2022. Over several months these were assessed and carefully considered by a team of expert judges to select the top 50 films, consisting of 21 Finalist Films (nominated for category and theme awards) and 29 Official Selection Films.

Check out many of the films online https://www.earthfuturesfestival.com/the-films and join the Festival in person for international screening and panel discussions: from poem, to dance, song and documentary, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Each event takes on one of the 2022 Festival Themes of Dynamic Earth, Future Earth and Human Connection.

The festival culminates in a live-streamed Awards Ceremony on 15 October in Sydney at the Australian Museum, where the 7 Category Award Winners, 3 Theme Award Winners and People’s Choice Award winner will be announced.
